Last Call (Single)
“Last Call” by Gilded Lows is a good ol fashioned Western Epic with the reverb turned to ten, mixing old sensibilities with something new, dark and at times hauntingly beautiful. Shoegaze and country is maybe one of the more ambitious crossovers but Gilded Lows has an aptitude for finding purchase in those echoes. The song chronicles the last moments, the indignation and the regrets of an unnamed protagonist. Culminating in a Scott Walker Esque wall of sound in the final act symbolizing the great beyond. This recording has drums by Greg Clifford “Heartless Bastards”, Guitar and organ work by Buckley Willis, Bass by Lolita Lynne “Tito & the Tarantulas” with Lyrics and vocals by Spencer “Boone” Carter.
