Aux Meadows ⫸ ⫸ ⫸ ⫸ ⫸ ⫸
Aux Meadows is an instrumental Americana trio hailing from Oakland, California. Comprised of musicians who initially connected through their children's preschool, the band's lineup includes lap steel, synthesizer, and guitar, creating a unique blend of country and new age sounds.
Formed in 2021, following a post-vaccination jam session, Aux Meadows embraces the influences and techniques honed during lockdown to produce open, unfussy compositions that are both rustic and shimmering, astral and twangy. Their debut album has been praised as "an excellent entry to the Cosmic Americana axis" by Raven Sings the Blues and "kosmische country gazing at the stars" by the Slow Music Movement.
Prior to the band's official formation, members played casually in various settings, from campfire sing-alongs and drum-machine-driven improvisations to Velvet Underground covers. Recently, Aux Meadows has graced stages at The Knockout in San Francisco, Little Hill Lounge in El Cerrito, The Bistro in Hayward, San Anselmo Yoga, and both Mars Records and Open Mind Music in Oakland.
Aux Meadows is truly a remarkable find. Their distinctive blend of soulful country twang with ethereal new age elements creates a unique, mesmerizing sonic landscape. Their latest album, 'Dust Kingdom,' stands as a testament to their innovative and harmonious interweaving of tradition and modernity. In essence, Aux Meadows' music is an immersive journey that resonates with listeners, lingering long after the last note. For fans of ambient country.
